Modified thickness caliper |
Atlas Model 3983 12" metal lathe. |
This is an old Sypher lathe that I found on Craigslist for a reasonalbe price. |
Homemade grinder converted from a craftsman radial arm saw motor. |
Rotary table project using a Bosch speed reducer. Spindle lock installed (10/18/09) This is definitely a light duty tool. It has a very simple handle/pointer and interchangeable printed division discs. Sector arm is improvised by using a piece of masking tape and marking out the next divison. Can be used in either the horizontal or vertical position. Finally added a proper hand crank. |
This is a cast iron assembly that was originally a tool for punching saw teeth in handsaw blades. It has now been converted into a spin index for the milling machine. |
Indexing fixture. |
Router spindle for the shaper. Converted from a morse 2 end mill holder. |
Added some brass screws to the fine downfeed housing of the mill/drill to take up the slack in the feed spindle. Modified an extra hex wrench to fit over the splines to aid in tightening/loosening the draw bar. |
This is a modification I'd been contmeplating for some time. A way to get some more cutting height out of the 14" bandsaw. First off was to remove the original cast iron table. Modified the lower blade guide and moved the blade rub bearing to a lower position. Installed a cast iron support for the new table, and increased the length of the tension bolt. The cutting height increased from 6" to 8". |
Radial arm drill press, maximum swing of about 30". Converted from a Craftsman radial arm saw and a Central Machinery 8" drill press. |
Wine stopper turning arbor. |
Homemade bowl coring jig modeled after the McNaughton style system. Still in the developement stages. |
Steady rest and deep coring jig. |
